amlodipine + hydrochlorothiazide + valsartan

Arbavasc HCT is a fixed-dose triple combination therapy containing amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker), valsartan (an angiotensin II receptor antagonist), and hydrochlorothiazide (a thiazide diuretic). Developed and marketed by SAJA Pharmaceuticals, it is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by dual therapy. Amlodipine acts by relaxing vascular smooth muscle to decrease peripheral vascular resistance, valsartan blocks the vasoconstrictive and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II, and hydrochlorothiazide promotes sodium and water excretion in the kidneys. Together, these three complementary mechanisms provide synergistic blood pressure reduction.
