Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AD-231 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy developed by Addpharma for the management of patients with concurrent hypertension and dyslipidemia. It consists of three active pharmaceutical ingredients: amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB); telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB); and rosuvastatin, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin). By combining these three agents into a single tablet, AD-231 aims to improve patient adherence to complex cardiovascular treatment regimens. The combination effectively lowers blood pressure through two distinct mechanisms—calcium channel blockade and renin-angiotensin system inhibition—while simultaneously reducing LDL cholesterol levels. AD-231 was developed in South Korea and is marketed by Yuhan under the brand name Duowell Plus.
