Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aknederm Salbe Neu is an over-the-counter topical combination ointment developed by Gepepharm GmbH for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions and impurities. The formulation contains two primary active ingredients: ammonium bituminosulfonate (ichthammol) and zinc oxide. Ammonium bituminosulfonate is a traditional substance of natural origin known for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and keratolytic properties, which help reduce skin redness and promote the shedding of dead skin cells. Zinc oxide provides astringent, antiseptic, and skin-soothing effects, contributing to the drying of blemishes and protection of the skin barrier. The product is indicated for the treatment of acne vulgaris, seborrhoea sicca et oleosa, folliculitis, and rosacea in adults and children aged 12 and older.
