Amniotic membrane extract eye drops (AMEED) is a biologic therapy developed by the Hospital Nacional Profesor Alejandro Posadas in Argentina for the treatment of hyposecretory dry eye syndrome. The drug is produced by processing and re-hydrating amniotic membranes to create a topical solution rich in growth factors and cytokines.
