Amoxicillin + ambroxol is a fixed-dose combination therapy consisting of the beta-lactam antibiotic amoxicillin and the mucolytic agent ambroxol. This combination is primarily indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, such as bronchitis and pharyngitis, where the presence of thick mucus complicates the infection. The addition of ambroxol may also enhance the concentration of amoxicillin in lung tissue and bronchial secretions, potentially improving clinical outcomes in patients with productive coughs.
