Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination antibiotic therapy consisting of amoxicillin (a penicillin-class antibiotic) and cefotaxime (a third-generation cephalosporin). This combination has demonstrated synergistic effects against certain bacterial infections, particularly those caused by extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing bacteria. The combination works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through different but complementary mechanisms.
