Amoxicillin + Clarithromycin

Amoxicillin + clarithromycin is a combination of two antibiotics used primarily as part of multi-drug regimens to eradicate *Helicobacter pylori* (H. pylori) infection, which is associated with peptic ulcer disease. Amoxicillin is a penicillin-class antibiotic that kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis, while clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. When used together, often in combination with a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) such as omeprazole or lansoprazole, they act synergistically to eliminate H. pylori and reduce the risk of ulcer recurrence[1][5][8]. Both drugs are small molecule antibiotics.
