amoxicillin + clavulanic acid (TPI)

Betamox Plus is a combination antibacterial product containing amoxicillin, a semi-synthetic beta-lactam antibiotic, and clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Amoxicillin exerts its bactericidal activity by binding to and inactivating penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located on the inner membrane of the bacterial cell wall, which leads to the inhibition of peptidoglycan synthesis and subsequent cell lysis. Clavulanic acid, a suicide inhibitor of many beta-lactamases, protects amoxicillin from enzymatic degradation by bacteria that produce these enzymes, thereby extending the antibiotic's spectrum to include many bacteria normally resistant to amoxicillin and other beta-lactam antibiotics. Developed and manufactured by TV TPI, Betamox Plus is indicated for the treatment of various infections caused by susceptible strains of microorganisms, including those of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, and skin.
