Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Amoxicillin + saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745 is a combination therapy consisting of the antibiotic amoxicillin and the probiotic yeast Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745. Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745 is a non-pathogenic, single-strain yeast probiotic that helps prevent and treat diarrhea, particularly antibiotic-associated diarrhea, by restoring intestinal microbiota balance and exerting anti-inflammatory effects in the gut. The probiotic can also reduce dysbiosis caused by antibiotics and may help protect against opportunistic pathogens such as Candida albicans[2][3][4][5][6].
