The combination has demonstrated **potent and durable antiviral activity**, with a significantly higher rate of plasma HIV-1 RNA suppression compared to lamivudine and zidovudine alone in treatment-naive adults[1][2]. This regimen was historically used in patients initiating HIV therapy and contributed to the early successes of combined antiretroviral therapy (cART).
