Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AMVAC + nivolumab is a combination therapy consisting of the AMVAC chemotherapy regimen and the immune checkpoint inhibitor nivolumab. The AMVAC regimen typically includes doxorubicin (Adriamycin), methotrexate, vinblastine, and cisplatin—agents commonly used in oncology for their cytotoxic effects on rapidly dividing cancer cells. Nivolumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed death-1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells, blocking its interaction with PD-L1/PD-L2 ligands and thereby enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. This combination aims to leverage both direct cytotoxicity from chemotherapy and immunomodulation from checkpoint inhibition to improve outcomes in cancer treatment.
