Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anastrozole + trastuzumab is a combination therapy used for the treatment of HER2-positive, hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. Anastrozole is an aromatase inhibitor that works by decreasing estrogen production and suppressing the growth of tumors that need estrogen to grow. Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that selectively binds to the extracellular domain of the human epidermal growth factor receptor protein (HER2) and suppresses cancer cell growth, proliferation, and survival. This combination targets both the hormone receptor and HER2 pathways in breast cancer cells.
