Anavex 2-73 + donepezil

**Anavex 2-73 + donepezil (ANAVEX PLUS)** is a combination therapy being developed by Anavex Life Sciences for Alzheimer's disease, consisting of the small molecule ANAVEX 2-73 (blarcamesine), a sigma-1 receptor agonist that also targets muscarinic receptors to restore cellular homeostasis, reduce protein misfolding, oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and inflammation, combined with donepezil, an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor and standard-of-care for symptomatic relief in Alzheimer's. Preclinical studies demonstrate synergistic effects, with the combination producing up to 80% greater reversal of memory loss in disease models compared to either agent alone, alongside neuroprotective and anti-amnesic properties.
