Overview

Anti-BCMA CAR-NK cells developed by Xinqiao Hospital of Chongqing (Army Medical University) is an investigational cell-based immunotherapy for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. The therapy involves natural killer (NK) cells that have been genetically modified with a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), which is highly expressed on malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma. This specific product utilizes umbilical cord blood-derived NK cells, offering a potential "off-the-shelf" alternative to patient-derived CAR-T cell therapies with a potentially improved safety profile regarding cytokine release syndrome and graft-versus-host disease.
