Overview

This is a combination cellular immunotherapy consisting of two distinct chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) products—one targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and the other targeting CD38. Both BCMA and CD38 are highly expressed on malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma. The combined infusion aims to enhance antitumor efficacy by simultaneously targeting two different antigens, thereby reducing the risk of tumor escape due to antigen loss or heterogeneity. Clinical studies in relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma have shown high overall response rates, with manageable safety profiles including cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and neurotoxicity[1][2]. This approach is under investigation primarily for patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma who have failed standard therapies.
