Overview

This autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy is designed to target B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), a protein predominantly expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells. Developed and manufactured by the Minsk Scientific-Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantation and Hematology in Belarus, the therapy involves harvesting a patient's T cells, genetically modifying them to express a BCMA-specific CAR, and re-infusing them following lymphodepleting chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide and fludarabine. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, aiming to induce deep and durable remissions by leveraging the patient's own immune system to selectively eliminate cancerous cells. The therapy is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials to determine its safety profile and clinical efficacy in adult populations.
