Overview

This agent is a **combination of two monoclonal antibodies**: one directed against CCL2 (also known as MCP-1) and the other directed against CCL12 (also known as MCP-5), both of which are chemokines implicated in immunosuppression and tumor progression. The combination is used experimentally, primarily in mouse preclinical models, to **neutralize both CCL2 and CCL12**, thereby inhibiting their binding to CCR2 and reducing recruitment of tumor-promoting myeloid cells, tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), and myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) to the tumor microenvironment. This blockade has been shown to reduce tumor growth and enhance the efficacy of cancer immunotherapies such as tumor vaccines. C1142 is a rat/mouse chimeric anti-CCL2 mAb, and C1450 is a human/mouse chimeric anti-CCL12 mAb, both produced at Centocor. The antibodies are typically administered in combination intraperitoneally in in vivo animal studies[1]. The combination does not have a clinical, FDA-approved product or canonical brand name; its use and evaluation are limited to research models of immunotherapy and cancer biology[1].
