Overview

Anti-CD19 + anti-CD22 dual targeting CAR-T cells is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy designed to simultaneously target two B-cell surface antigens, CD19 and CD22. Developed by Shanghai Children's Medical Center, this therapy is primarily studied for the treatment of pediatric patients with relapsed or refractory B-lineage acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). By targeting two distinct antigens, the therapy aims to overcome the limitation of antigen escape, a frequent cause of relapse in patients treated with single-target CD19 CAR-T therapies. The cells are typically engineered using a bicistronic vector to co-express both CAR constructs, ensuring that the T cells can recognize and eliminate leukemic cells expressing either or both targets.
