This investigational anti-CD19 CAR-T cell therapy is being developed by The Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine for the treatment of multi-drug resistant steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome (MDR-SRNS). The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting CD19, a protein found on the surface of B cells. By eliminating CD19-positive B cells, the therapy aims to disrupt the B-cell-mediated pathogenic processes underlying nephrotic syndrome. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 dose-escalation study to assess safety and efficacy in pediatric patients who have failed conventional treatments.
