Overview

This is an investigational anti-CD19 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by the Vinmec Research Institute of Stem Cell and Gene Technology (VRISG) in Vietnam. The therapy is designed as a point-of-care (POC) product, where a patient's own T cells are genetically engineered to express a CAR targeting the CD19 protein, which is highly expressed on B-cell malignancies. Once re-infused into the patient following lymphodepleting chemotherapy (typically fludarabine and cyclophosphamide), these modified T cells recognize and eliminate CD19-positive tumor cells. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma and B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
