This is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting C-type lectin-like molecule-1 (CLL1, also known as CLEC12A). Developed by the 920th Hospital of Joint Logistics Support Force of the People's Liberation Army of China, the therapy is designed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML). CLL1 is a surface antigen highly expressed on AML blasts and leukemic stem cells but minimally expressed on normal hematopoietic stem cells, providing a therapeutic window to minimize myelosuppression. The treatment process involves engineering a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that specifically recognizes CLL1, enabling these modified cells to identify and eliminate CLL1-positive leukemia cells upon re-infusion. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development to assess safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics.
