Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells targeting epidermal growth factor receptor variant III (EGFRvIII) and pembrolizumab, a PD-1 inhibitor. This investigational treatment was designed to target EGFRvIII-positive glioblastoma, based on the rationale that CAR T-cell therapy targeting EGFRvIII produces upregulation of PD-L1 in the tumor microenvironment, which might be counteracted by PD-1 inhibition.
