Anti-MUC1* monoclonal antibody is a preclinical-stage therapeutic developed by Minerva Biotechnologies for the treatment of various solid tumors. The antibody specifically targets MUC1*, which is the activated, cleaved form of the MUC1 transmembrane protein. While full-length MUC1 is often associated with healthy tissues and provides a protective barrier, MUC1* is the predominant form found on cancer cells where it functions as a potent growth factor receptor, driving tumor proliferation, survival, and metastasis.
