A combination therapy consisting of an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody (such as pembrolizumab, nivolumab, or cemiplimab) administered together with standard cytotoxic chemotherapy. Anti-PD-1 antibodies are immune checkpoint inhibitors that block the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) pathway on T cells, thereby enhancing the immune system's ability to recognize and destroy cancer cells. Chemotherapy agents directly target rapidly dividing tumor cells through cytotoxic mechanisms. The combination is designed to provide synergistic antitumor effects by both directly killing cancer cells and stimulating an immune response against them. This regimen is used in multiple cancer types including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), small cell lung cancer (SCLC), triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), gastric/gastroesophageal cancers, and others[3][7].
