Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kekkan Biologics is developing a neutralizing monoclonal antibody targeting Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor C (VEGF-C) for the treatment of metastatic cancers, including clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). The antibody binds to VEGF-C to inhibit VEGF-C-driven lymphangiogenesis and angiogenesis, thereby preventing tumor metastasis. Developed as a spin-off from the University of Nice Côte d'Azur and the Institute for Research on Cancer and Aging (IRCAN), this biologic has shown efficacy in preclinical models of ccRCC. The company holds patents on these novel anti-VEGFC antibodies and their therapeutic uses in neovascular and fibrotic disorders.
