Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Concoate-HT is a plasma-derived human coagulation factor VIII concentrate developed and manufactured by the Japan Blood Products Organization (JBPO). It is indicated for the treatment and prevention of bleeding episodes in patients with Hemophilia A (congenital factor VIII deficiency). The product undergoes heat treatment (HT) during the manufacturing process to ensure viral inactivation and safety. As a replacement therapy, Concoate-HT restores the activity of factor VIII, a critical cofactor in the intrinsic pathway of the coagulation cascade. By facilitating the activation of factor X by factor IXa, it enables the generation of thrombin and the subsequent formation of a stable fibrin clot, thereby controlling or preventing hemorrhage in affected individuals.
