Apatinib + docetaxel is a combination therapy used primarily in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly in patients with wild-type EGFR, and has also been studied for metastatic gastric cancer. Apatinib is an oral small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2), thereby blocking angiogenesis and tumor blood supply. Docetaxel is a cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agent belonging to the taxane class, which stabilizes microtubules and inhibits cell division. The combination has shown efficacy in delaying disease progression and improving survival outcomes in heavily pretreated or refractory cases of NSCLC, including those with brain metastases, as well as being investigated for use in metastatic gastric cancer. The regimen generally demonstrates a tolerable safety profile[1][2][3][5].
