Drug intelligence / Profile preview
APL-1202 and APL-1501 are two separate investigational drugs developed by Asieris Pharmaceuticals. APL-1202 (also known as nitroxoline) is a reversible and orally available MetAP2 inhibitor with anti-angiogenic and anti-tumor activities. It is primarily being developed for bladder cancer indications, including non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) and muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). APL-1501 is described as a second-generation compound of APL-1202, retaining the oral administration route but with improved druggability through prodrug design.
