Overview

4P003 (4P-003) is an abuse-deterrent, fixed-dose combination drug candidate developed by 4P-Pharma for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), stimulant use disorders, and stimulant misuse. It is formulated as an oral capsule containing microbeads of the central nervous system stimulant methylphenidate extended-release (20 mg) combined with the dopaminergic agent apomorphine (5 mg). Apomorphine acts as a D1 and D2 dopamine receptor agonist, serving as an aversive deterrent by inducing emesis and blocking stimulant-induced hyperactivity if the formulation is crushed, dissolved, or otherwise misused, while preserving the therapeutic utility of methylphenidate when taken as directed.
