Overview

AQ002&3P is a small molecule combination therapy developed by Aquilon Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It consists of an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (LABA) reformulated using Aquilon's proprietary HPBetadex (hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin) excipient technology. This platform is designed to improve the solubility and delivery of existing respiratory drugs, potentially enhancing efficacy and patient outcomes. The drug exerts its therapeutic effect through the activation of the glucocorticoid receptor to reduce airway inflammation and the beta-2 adrenergic receptor to induce bronchodilation. It is intended for administration via a dry powder inhaler (DPI).
