AR-101 (Arava Bio Tech)

AR-101 is an investigational topical formulation of the calcium channel blocker amlodipine, developed by Arava Bio Tech Ltd. for the treatment of chronic, hard-to-heal wounds, including diabetic, arterial, and venous ulcers. The drug is designed to accelerate the formation of granulation tissue by promoting local vasodilation and improving microcirculation at the wound site. Additionally, topical calcium channel blockers are thought to stimulate fibroblast proliferation and enhance the synthesis of extracellular matrix components such as collagen, which are critical for the wound healing process. AR-101 has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials to assess its safety and efficacy in patients with chronic wounds.
