Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This unnamed preclinical research program, developed by Araclon Biotech (a subsidiary of Grifols) in collaboration with the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), targets Parkinson's disease. The therapeutic approach focuses on modulating and promoting the dopaminergic differentiation pathway of original brain cells to restore dopaminergic neuron populations. Currently in the animal concept-testing and preclinical stage, the project is supported by funding from the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (grant RTC-2015-3439-1). Araclon Biotech holds an exclusive license to the first patent generated from this project, which represents an exploratory effort into regenerative medicine for Parkinson's disease.
