ARB + DMX-200

ARB + DMX-200 is a combination therapy consisting of an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) and DMX-200 (repagermanium), a chemokine receptor type 2 (CCR2) antagonist. This combination is designed to target inflammatory pathways in kidney diseases such as focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). The ARB component blocks the angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R), which is standard care for hypertension and kidney disease, while the addition of CCR2 antagonism with repagermanium aims to further reduce proteinuria and inflammation. The dual mechanism provides additive benefits by reducing protein leakage in urine, decreasing inflammatory cell influx into the kidneys, and preserving podocyte cells critical for kidney filtration. The therapy is being developed primarily for FSGS but has also been studied in other conditions such as COVID-19[1][2][3][5][6].
