Overview

Arepanrix + seasonal trivalent influenza vaccine refers to the co-administration of GlaxoSmithKline's AS03-adjuvanted H1N1 pandemic influenza vaccine (Arepanrix) and a standard seasonal trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (TIV). Arepanrix, developed during the 2009 H1N1 pandemic, is an inactivated split-virion vaccine containing 3.75 µg of hemagglutinin antigen from the A/California/7/2009 (H1N1) strain, formulated with the proprietary AS03 adjuvant system (squalene, DL-α-tocopherol, and polysorbate 80) to enhance the immune response. The seasonal TIV component typically includes antigens from two influenza A strains (H1N1 and H3N2) and one influenza B strain. This combination was evaluated in clinical trials to assess the safety and immunogenicity of providing protection against both pandemic and seasonal influenza strains in a single clinical visit.
