Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Arexvy + Comirnaty Omicron XBB.1.5 refers to the co-administration of GlaxoSmithKline's (GSK) respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine, Arexvy (RSVPreF3 OA), and the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 mRNA vaccine targeting the Omicron XBB.1.5 variant. Arexvy is a recombinant protein subunit vaccine containing the RSV prefusion F protein stabilized in its prefusion conformation, combined with the AS01E adjuvant system. The COVID-19 component is a nucleoside-modified messenger RNA vaccine that induces an immune response against the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. This combination was evaluated in a Phase 3 clinical trial (NCT06374394) to assess the safety and immunogenicity of simultaneous administration compared to separate administration in adults aged 50 years and older, aiming to simplify immunization schedules for seasonal respiratory pathogens.
