Arginine is an amino acid that serves as a key intermediate in the urea cycle, facilitating the detoxification of ammonia in the liver. Sorbitol is a polyol that acts as an osmotic laxative and stimulates the release of cholecystokinin (CCK) from the intestinal mucosa. The release of CCK promotes gallbladder contraction and the secretion of pancreatic enzymes, thereby improving bile flow and overall digestive function.
