This combination is primarily utilized in clinical settings to manage patients with psychiatric conditions (such as major depressive disorder or schizophrenia) who also suffer from hyperprolactinemia, which may be idiopathic, drug-induced, or caused by a pituitary prolactinoma. The addition of cabergoline helps to normalize prolactin levels and address associated symptoms like amenorrhea, while aripiprazole manages the underlying psychiatric symptoms.
