aripiprazole + olanzapine + risperidone

Aripiprazole, olanzapine, and risperidone are all atypical (second-generation) antipsychotic drugs primarily used in the treatment of schizophrenia and other psychiatric disorders. Aripiprazole acts as a partial agonist at dopamine D2 and serotonin 5HT1A receptors, and as an antagonist at serotonin 5HT2A receptors. Olanzapine and risperidone act mainly as antagonists at dopamine D2 receptors and various serotonin (5HT2A) receptors, with additional activity at histamine H1, alpha adrenergic, and muscarinic cholinergic receptors. These agents are sometimes combined in clinical practice for patients with treatment-resistant symptoms or inadequate response to monotherapy; however, combination therapy increases the risk of adverse effects without always providing clear evidence of superior efficacy over monotherapy[1][4][6]. All three drugs are available in oral formulations; some also have long-acting injectable forms[2].
