Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This refers to a combination homeopathic treatment consisting of *Arnica montana* C30 and *Bellis perennis* C30, studied by Shaare Zedek Medical Center for the prevention of seroma formation following mastectomy and immediate breast reconstruction. The active ingredients are homeopathic preparations of *Arnica montana* (mountain arnica) and *Bellis perennis* (common daisy), both diluted to a C30 potency (10^-60 concentration). The medication is prepared as spherical saccharose globules according to the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS). In a prospective, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial, the combination was found to significantly reduce drain removal time and was associated with lower opioid intake, suggesting an effect on the inflammatory process and tissue recovery post-surgery.
