Overview

**AS03B** is GSK's half-dose AS03 oil-in-water vaccine adjuvant system. It contains 5.93 mg of DL-alpha-tocopherol per dose, compared with 11.86 mg in AS03A, and includes squalene as an emulsion component. AS03B is administered with, rather than independently of, vaccine antigen to enhance antigen-specific immune responses. It has been evaluated with monovalent inactivated split-virion influenza A H7N9 vaccine formulations in healthy adults; in these studies, AS03A generally produced stronger humoral responses than AS03B, particularly among older adults.
