Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ASA404 + docetaxel is a combination therapy consisting of ASA404 (vadimezan), a tumor-vascular disrupting agent (Tumor-VDA), and docetaxel, a taxane-based chemotherapy drug. ASA404 selectively causes the collapse of existing tumor blood supply leading to extensive tumor cell death, while docetaxel inhibits cell division by binding to microtubules. The combination was investigated for treatment of various solid tumors, particularly as second-line treatment for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
