Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Guronsan is an over-the-counter (OTC) antiasthenic and detoxifying combination drug containing glucuronamide, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), and caffeine. It is widely used for the symptomatic treatment of temporary fatigue (functional asthenia) and to assist in the elimination of endogenous and exogenous toxins (such as those from alcohol consumption, smoking, or drug intolerances). Glucuronamide acts as a precursor to glucuronic acid, facilitating the glucuronidation pathway in the liver to promote detoxification and excretion of xenobiotics. Ascorbic acid serves as an essential antioxidant and cofactor, helping to replenish vitamin C levels and combat oxidative stress. Caffeine acts as a central nervous system stimulant by antagonizing adenosine receptors, providing an immediate boost in alertness and physical performance.
