This is a combination regimen consisting of ascorbic acid (vitamin C), carboplatin, and paclitaxel. Carboplatin and paclitaxel are both cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agents widely used together for the treatment of various solid tumors, including ovarian, lung, endometrial, cervical, and head and neck cancers[1][2][6]. Paclitaxel stabilizes microtubules to inhibit cell division (mitosis), while carboplatin forms DNA crosslinks that prevent DNA replication and transcription. Ascorbic acid is an antioxidant with potential roles in modulating oxidative stress; it has been investigated in some studies as an adjunct to chemotherapy but is not a standard component of this regimen. The combination aims to leverage the synergistic effects of these agents on cancer cells through different mechanisms.
