Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Aspirin + atenolol + hydrochlorothiazide + ramipril** was a blinded oral fixed-dose comparator capsule evaluated in the phase 2 Indian Polycap Study (TIPS) in people with cardiovascular risk factors but without established cardiovascular disease. The regimen contained hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg, atenolol 50 mg, ramipril 5 mg, and aspirin 80 mg once daily. It combines a thiazide diuretic, beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor, and antiplatelet agent to lower blood pressure and heart rate while reducing platelet-mediated thrombosis. This four-drug trial formulation is distinct from Polycap, which additionally contains simvastatin.
