Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of four medications: two statins (atorvastatin and simvastatin) and two antiplatelet agents (aspirin and clopidogrel). The combination is used to prevent cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes. Aspirin and clopidogrel work as antiplatelet agents that prevent blood clots from forming by inhibiting platelet aggregation. Atorvastatin and simvastatin are HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins) that lower cholesterol levels by blocking the enzyme needed for cholesterol production in the liver.
