Overview

Aspirin + osimertinib is a combination therapy under investigation for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly in patients with EGFR mutations who have developed resistance to osimertinib. Aspirin, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), has been shown to synergistically enhance the antitumor activity of osimertinib by promoting Bim-dependent apoptosis and inhibiting Akt/FoxO3a signaling component phosphorylation, thereby sensitizing resistant NSCLC cells to osimertinib both in vitro and in vivo[1][4]. The combination is being evaluated for its potential to delay or overcome acquired resistance to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) such as osimertinib. Clinical trials are ongoing to assess the efficacy and safety of this combination in advanced NSCLC patients[2][5].
