Overview

AST-202 is a multi-antigen plasmid DNA (pDNA) vaccine being developed by Aston Science for the treatment of ovarian cancer. The vaccine is engineered to encode four distinct tumor-associated antigens: Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 2 (IGFBP2), Insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R), Survivin (BIRC5), and Hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF-1a). By delivering the genetic instructions for these proteins, AST-202 aims to prime the patient's immune system to recognize and eliminate cancer cells that overexpress these specific targets. This multi-antigen approach is designed to address tumor heterogeneity and reduce the likelihood of immune escape, which are common challenges in the treatment of advanced ovarian malignancies.
