astegolimab (Amgen)

Astegolimab is an investigational, fully human immunoglobulin G2 monoclonal antibody originally developed by Amgen and subsequently licensed to Genentech, a member of the Roche Group. It binds the ST2 receptor, also known as interleukin-1 receptor-like 1, and blocks interleukin-33 signaling, an epithelial alarmin pathway that promotes airway inflammation. Astegolimab has been studied in asthma, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, severe COVID-19 pneumonia, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Its COPD program included the Phase IIb ALIENTO study and the Phase III ARNASA study; ALIENTO met its primary endpoint whereas ARNASA did not meet its primary endpoint.
