Overview

This is a four-drug combination regimen consisting of atezolizumab, bevacizumab, carboplatin, and paclitaxel. Atezolizumab is a monoclonal antibody immunotherapy that targets PD-L1 on tumor cells, blocking its interaction with PD-1 and B7.1 receptors to enhance T-cell mediated immune responses against cancer cells. Bevacizumab is a monoclonal antibody that inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby preventing angiogenesis required for tumor growth. Carboplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapy agent that causes DNA crosslinking and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. Paclitaxel stabilizes microtubules and inhibits their disassembly during cell division, leading to mitotic arrest and cell death. This combination leverages both immunotherapeutic mechanisms and cytotoxic chemotherapy for synergistic anti-tumor effects.
