Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination investigational regimen consisting of **atezolizumab** (a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting PD-L1), **pegylated interferon alfa-2a** (a pegylated formulation of recombinant interferon-alpha used as an immunomodulatory cytokine), and **bevacizumab** (a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor A, VEGF-A). - **Atezolizumab** blocks the interaction of PD-L1 with its receptors (PD-1 and B7.1), thereby releasing the inhibition of immune response and increasing antitumor T cell activity. - **Pegylated interferon alfa-2a** acts as an immune modulator, enhancing the innate and adaptive immune response against tumor cells. - **Bevacizumab** inhibits angiogenesis by binding VEGF-A, thereby preventing the growth of new blood vessels required for tumor growth and metastasis. This regimen is under investigation for the treatment of cancers, including metastatic or unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma.
